Nope! "In-home" means we come INSIDE YOUR HOME to groom your cat(s), usually in your bathroom. This minimizes the stress on your cat(s), since the entire experience takes place on your cats' home turf.
Most cat guardians find this less stressful too! No pet carriers. No more sad kitty meows during drives to the vet or groomer.

If you schedule a grooming appointment and do not inform Better Kitty there are fleas in your home, you will be charged a $250 Flea Fee because we will be forced to cancel all other appointments that day. We will have to follow a strict regimen to clean ourself and our equpment; we cannot risk exposing our other clients or our own pets to fleas.

Please call our booking line at (206) 683-1100. Our office staff will contact you to reschedule. Canceling with less than 24 hours notice or 'no-shows' can result in an additional fee when re-booking.

Please clear the bathroom floor of any loose items (rug, litter box, etc), sweep the floor, and have a trash receptacle handy.
For Lion Cuts have two clean bath towels per cat.
Please do NOT confine your kitty to a carrier, bathroom, etc. before we arrive. This only increases the kitty's stress, making the grooming process harder for the kitty and the groomer.

No! Fleas are a serious medical problem and must be treated by a veterinarian.

We can ONLY visit homes in Seattle:
- north of Roxbury in West Seattle or north of Bangor in South Seattle, and
- south of 145th St
- NOT Downtown [west of I-5 between Denny Way and Spokane St (zipcodes 98101, 98104, 98121, and much of 98124)]
If your home address is outside our service area we cannot visit to groom your cats. Sorry. Seattle traffic forces us to limit our area.

Our services are priced to be affordable and cover our costs. So we do not require tips. However, a tip is a compliment. And we love compliments!

No, please speak to your vet. But we will apply monthly flea treatments at any visit at no additional charge.

To provide the best service we come to cats' territory: your home! In some areas of Seattle street parking is difficult and we must pay for off-street parking. Rather than raise all clients' fees we target a 'parking fee' only to these areas.
The 'parking fee' is $10 per visit. If you can supply off-street parking please let us know!

There are many ways to manage your kittys' inappropriate clawing behavior. For some clients Soft Paws are a useful tool. So we will occasionally apply Soft Paws, but only as a tool in a long-term behavior plan. Please ask about our "Cat Behavior Coaching" services.
Clients must purchase "Soft Paws" brand claw covers (including glue) before our visit. We will not apply any other brands as they are not safe for your cat(s).

Yes! In fact, we require it (unless you are caring for small children or working from home). Your presence provides vital emotional support for your cat(s).

Maybe... We require an adult who regularly cares for the cat(s) be present. This is for your cats' comfort and happiness.
Acceptable: you, your spouse or partner, or an ADULT living in your home.
Not acceptable: neighbor, MINOR child(ren), nanny, housesitter, your personal assistant, etc.
We will not enter your home without an adult present.

Probably not. Most cats never need to be bathed. Soap will disrupt the natural oils in cats' skin and CAUSE skin problems. So we very rarely bathe cats.
The few cats which do require baths are usually elderly or disabled: cats which cannot groom themselves. And bathing cats is not a good way to help humans allergic to cats.

Since we are not vets we cannot give meds, change dressings, etc. But we may be able to teach you better ways for you to assist your cats with these medical needs. Or offer tools and tricks. Just ask!
