Who is Rose?

Rose Silcox-Rither is the owner and groomer for Better Kitty.

While Rose is NOT a veterinarian and cannot provide vet services, she is a highly-trained and certified cat-care professional.

Rose's Qualifications:

- Certified Master Groomer, Cat Groomers of America Institute

- Master's Degree in Animal Behavior, Texas A&M University

- CPR for Cats, Red Cross

- First Aid for Cats, Red Cross

- Tellington TTouch® Method Certification, Tellington TTouch Training

- Apprenticed at well-regarded local cat groomer

- Volunteer, PAWS Cat City adoption center

- Volunteer, Greyhound Pets dog rescue

Rose lives in Magnolia with her husband David and two American Shorthair cats: "Aki" a shy but sassy tortie and "Cotton" a mackerel tabby 'bro cat'. (That's Cotton in the picture with Rose!)

Rose is a real 'foodie' who loves trying out new cuisines and ingredients. With her husband, David, she is a soccer fan who also plays weekly. Go Sounders!

Who is M-Jo?

When M-Jo Baker needed help managing her first-ever cat’s biting behavior several years ago, she was very happy to find Rose and Better Kitty. M-Jo and Rose became friends, and M-Jo became the ‘behind the scenes’ staffer.

M-Jo wears a number of 'hats' at Better Kitty:

- Booking clients' appointments

- Creating and maintaining the website

- Advising Rose on accounting, taxation, marketing, and other business issues

- Writing for Better Kitty's blog: "Purrs and Paws"

- Assisting Rose as needed (she even arranged the flowers for Rose's wedding!)

M-Jo shares her Northgate condo with two beautiful black cats: "Katya the Superkitty" a Bombay, and "Mr. Barley Blair" a Domestic Shorthair.

Actually from Seattle, M-Jo loves movies, especially Japanese anime. She is a hockey fan and excited about the new Seattle NHL franchise.
